Free. Postcard printing $5 each.
Join us for this annual celebration of independent brick-and-mortar stationery shops.
Whether you're a longtime stationery enthusiast or simply curious about letterpress, we invite you to stop by and enjoy hands-on creativity with others who appreciate beautiful paper, handwritten notes, and the art of correspondence.
With purchases of $25 or more, you'll receive a Special Delivery Envelope containing a surprise gift such as a greeting card, bookmark, mini print, discount on a future purchase, or another stationery-themed treat.
ACTIVITIES
Explore our vintage presses and learn more about the letterpress printing process.
Print and mail your own postcard ($5) by choosing a letterpress postcard, printing the back yourself on a vintage press, personalizing it, and dropping it in our mailbox—we'll provide the stamp.
Contribute to a community art installation of envelopes embellished with messages of hope, encouragement, gratitude, and kindness.
Receive a personalized copy of the DC Scout Guide with live calligraphy by Erin Eileen Fine Stationery (12-2 pm).
FOOD AND DRINK
Coffee and seasonal drinks will be available for purchase from Brightside Blend outside the shop from 10:00 AM–1:00 PM.
Little Ship Bakery will be on-site throughout the day with a menu of seasonal baked goods inspired by the relaxed, summery spirit of the event.
Stationery Store Day celebrates local paper shops, in-person shopping, and the community of people who love stationery and the written word.

Step into our letterpress studio + shop to explore artisan gifts, learn about letterpress, and enjoy time with others who appreciate beautiful stationery and handwritten notes. You’ll find an intimate showcase of Theresa’s favorite things - handcrafted gifts, kindred makers, and good company.
Open to Being's signature shopping event opens our boutique letterpress studio in Arlington to the DC metro area. Founder Theresa Esterlund curates each gathering around our central communal table, featuring select local creative entrepreneurs and exceptional handcrafted goods.
Our Arlington letterpress shop is open to the public exclusively during these seasonal shopping events. Also open by appointment.
