"Balance" mini letterpress variable edition print

These tiny prints (4 x 6 inches) are a perfect gift of art because they can as easily adorn a desk as a wall. The abstract design was created with wood type commas, and each was hand inked to create a range of marbled and printed effects. Like a stack of teapots or elephants (or whatever you see), they are precariously yet perfectly balanced - just like life.

You can specify dark or light in the notes at purchase, and we will select for you based on what's available. The print you receive may look different than the ones pictured.

Process

Wood type commas were arranged and set on the bed of a cylinder press. A combination of grey ink on the press and hand-inking on the type created texture, variations, and depth. With this process, final prints vary within the same color family, making each an original work of art. The final orientation of each print was selected by me, as noted by location of number and signature.
