"Melt" letterpress print

An original letterpress limited edition print in subtle “melting” color on soft mint green 100% cotton paper (110#). For some, this abstract image might evoke the softness of spring, while other see a melting glacier. The subtle shift, however you see it, is a reminder that every moment is ephemeral and therefore precious.

Process

Irregular wood remnants from carved wood type were arranged and locked into a square design on a Vandercook cyclinder proof press. Aqua ink was blended in several tints was applied to the press cylinders to create a dark-to-light effect when printed.
