Meet the Makers at Theresa's Table

Meet the Makers at Theresa's Table

Theresa’s Table is our signature makers gathering where heart meets craft, a “slow shopping” experience that celebrates connection and a mindful approach to consumerism. At our Arlington, Virginia letterpress studio + shop, you’ll find a welcoming alternative to crowded holiday markets – just beautiful things made by artists who care deeply about their craft and meaningful conversations with people who appreciate beautiful stationery, handwritten notes, artisanal gifts, and slowing down to show their values.

At Theresa’s Table, you can take your time at our artisan market to shop fine handcrafted goods, talk with each maker about their work, and meet kindred spirits. I’ve curated this season’s experiences to include women-owned creative businesses who bring high quality craftsmanship. I know you’ll enjoy getting to know them all!

Ashley Kurth-Reinhart | Paloma Vintage Designs

Every Paloma Vintage Designs piece of jewelry or decor is sustainably handcrafted and one-of-a-kind.

Ashley is a multidisciplinary artist and owner of Paloma Vintage Designs, an upcycled jewelry and art boutique featuring one-of-a-kind statement pieces made with repurposed vintage and secondhand materials.

One of the reasons I invited Ashley is her commitment to slow fashion—prioritizing sustainability and ethics over the fast-paced production and consumption of trendy clothing. In 2020, she founded the "Trash to Treasure Movement," advocating for sustainable fashion and creative reuse through events like the ReFashion Show and community workshops.

Meet and talk with Ashley about how she finds materials, her craftsmanship, and what inspires her bold modern aesthetic. She’ll showcase her holiday trees in various sizes, each one beautifully designed with vintage jewelry. She'll also have a range of stunning, sustainable earrings, necklaces, and bracelets created from repurposed materials.

Erin Cassidy | Erin Eileen Fine Stationery

Erin embodies the beauty and elegance of all things paper and pen.

Erin is a local calligrapher and stationer offering letterpress printing and calligraphy services. She is known for pointed pen calligraphy written in a foundational style called Copperplate. With a background in Art History, Studio Art, a master's degree in education, and a Certificate in Graphic Design from the Corcoran School of Art & Design in Washington, DC, she brings both artistic vision and technical skill to every piece she creates.

Erin will offer personalized calligraphy gift tags and gift wrapping services using recycled Kraft paper, twine, a wax seal, and fresh greenery for a touch of nature. This luxury service creates a complete gifting experience that honors both giver and receiver. We’re excited to offer this as a special treat for VIP Early Access ticket holders only (11 am - 1 pm).

Jessica Eason | Rough Seas Productions

Each sip of Rough Seas Productions tea is a treat for your spirit and the planet.

I love a good cup of coffee in the morning, but I've always been a tea drinker. I love the aromas of blended loose leaf teas, especially when I know where my tea was grown and what went into making it.

I selected Jessica because she helps people experience the transformative power of sustainable, intentional living—through TEA! Whether you're already a tea drinker, looking for cozy winter gifts, or want anti-inflammatory herbal blends for cold and flu season, you'll discover beautifully crafted organic teas to warm your heart.

Rough Seas Productions is an organic herbal tea company based in Arlington that makes eco-friendly and sustainable products. With a background in marine biology and coastal ecology, Jessica brings a scientist's curiosity and a naturalist's reverence to her work as an herbalist and gardener. Jessica's journey began in a community garden, sparked by a simple question: How can the earth nourish my body?

Gretchen Mull | Gretchen Mull Ceramics

Soothing colors and luxurious minimalism are the heart of Gretchen Mull Ceramics.

I've been a fan of Gretchen's art for many years, and I'm so happy to feature her at Theresa's Table. Her aesthetic complements mine beautifully, and I know you'll love creating gift combinations with her minimally designed and delicately crafted ceramic mugs, bowls, bud vases, and spoons alongside Open to Being paper goods. Why not bundle a journal and colored pencils with artisan tea and a handmade ceramic mug for a lovely self-care gift package?

Gretchen currently lives and works in Centreville, Virginia. In 2018, she received a BFA in Craft & Material Studies and a BFA in Art Education from Virginia Commonwealth University. In addition to running her business, she's a full-time high school art teacher in Fairfax County, Virginia.

More Women-Owned Businesses at Open to Being

While you're exploring Theresa's Table, you'll also discover work from other talented women makers in our shop. Eliza Clifford of Lavender Lizard Press creates screen-printed tote bags and bandanas with bold, graphic designs on substantial recycled cotton canvas. Greta Wilhelm of Clay and Candle Co offers hand-poured, small-batch candles with non-toxic scents. These artists won't be present at the events, but their beautiful handcrafted goods are available to shop alongside Open to Being stationery, Blackwing pencils and accessories, and the featured makers' items.

The Theresa's Table Experience

What brings me the most joy when curating these shopping gatherings is the space to really connect. Because we intentionally have a limited number of guests, you can slow down and enjoy unhurried conversations with makers and each other in our cozy space.

“Theresa’s Table takes root in my expertise designing immersive museum experiences and integrates my desire to create events that are personal and meaningful. I want people to discover beautiful objects and connect with the stories and makers behind them, in a way that's relaxed and welcoming. In addition, slow shopping at the holiday season is a way to get grounded, reconnect with yourself, and shop with your values.”
