Print your wedding or special event invitations on a working 1910 treadle-operated platen letterpress. You bring your finalized design, and I'll guide you through the letterpress printing process. Enjoy time together and luxurious invitations that will make you proud to say “we printed this ourselves”!
You provide your design and paper. The workshop includes advice for excellent letterpress results. Ink choices are black, white, reflex blue, process blue, warm red, green or yellow. Custom ink colors are optional add-on.
For this workshop, both people will work together to print up to 100 pieces (or 50 invitations and 50 RSVP cards).

Consultation and advice on paper selection, ink choices, and similar details.

Polymer plate printed from your design (must be formated for polymer plate making, or I can do that for you as an add-on).

Our cozy, bright studio all to yourselves. (Theresa will be with you, but we'll be closed during your workshop.)

Add-On Options
Add-ons can be added at scheduling time but must be paid in full no later than two weeks before scheduled date.
Additional press time - $75/hour (to be determined in consultation) Adding another ink color or more pieces requires additional time.
Custom ink color - $40
I’ll mix your Pantone color in advance so you’ll be ready to print on your workshop date.
Foil-pressed envelopes - $75
Elevate your envelopes with a gold, silver, or colored foil design printed on envelope flaps using decorative ornaments in our letterpress type collection. Note that we cannot provide custom plates for foil printing, nor do we offer envelope addressing.
Design formatting for plate production - $25

We request 4 weeks notice to allow for Theresa to plan her schedule accordingly. We cannot promise your exact date, but will do our best to work with you if you have a special occasion to celebrate together.
Please note that operating the letterpress requires standing for extended periods and using a foot treadle (similar to a sewing machine pedal) to run the press.
Both participants must sign a safety waiver onsite acknowledging the use of heavy machinery, sharp tools, and materials that require careful handling. All equipment will be used under direct supervision.
We may photograph during the workshop for promotional use on our website and social media. You'll have the option to consent or decline via a photo release form at the start of the workshop.
